We are an architecture practice specialising in Residential projects of varying scale, as well as Commercial developments and Retail projects. Our office is located in Ocean Grove on the majestic Bellarine Peninsula. We predominantly service The Bellarine, Greater Geelong and Greater Melbourne however we do take on projects in other regions of Victoria and interstate.
We offer a highly personalised architectural service, guaranteeing an attentive, imaginative and well considered approach to your project whether it be a home, a business or an investment opportunity. Energy Efficient
Passivhaus is the leading standard on energy savings worldwide. Energy savings amount to 90% in comparison with current building standards. We achieve this enormous energy conservation through scientific design optimisation, special energy efficient building elements and ventilation techniques.
Healthy
Air pollution indoors can be up to 5x worse than outdoors. Dust, mould, expired air, CO2 and contaminants from cooking all create an indoor environment that contributes to allergies, asthma and sleep disturbance. Our homes provide a constant supply of fresh, filtered and preconditioned air that is better quality than outdoor.
Comfortable
Comfort in our houses is perceptibly improved by designing with consideration to air temperatures, surface temperatures, draughts and relative humidity. The home benefits from a relatively constant internal temperature that is well within the human comfort range. A constant supply of fresh air ensures CO2 concentration is within recommended limits.
Our History
The practice was established in 2015 by Matthew Green following two decades working as an architect across a wide range of building types and scales.
Matthew is heavily involved in all aspects of the practice and is especially focused on ensuring that all projects achieve the highest possible design standard. He has a passion for excellence in architectural design and believes that all building projects, regardless of scale or type, can benefit greatly from the involvement of a trained architect.
Matthew grew up in Hobart and received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University Tasmania in 1997. He then embarked on a journey to seek international experience and explore the world that led him to spend two years in Kuala Lumpur, followed by a decade in Dublin. During his time in Ireland he worked as an Associate Architect at international multidisciplinary Building Design Partnership where he was responsible for the design and delivery of multi-million euro projects in sectors including Transport, Education, Residential, Hospitality, Shopping Centres, Commercial Offices and Public Buildings across five continents.
Matthew returned to Melbourne in 2009 where he worked as a project architect on large scale multi-residential apartment projects at Rothelowman followed by several years refining his knowledge of high-end single-dwelling residential projects through his work with award winning boutique practice, Room11.
With an ambition to run his own practice from early in his career, Matthew commenced trading as Office of Matthew Green (OMG) Architects in early 2015.
In mid-2017, Matthew and his family moved to the idyllic township of Ocean Grove on the outstanding Bellarine Peninsula where our office is also now based.
Matthew is a Registered Architect in Victoria. He is an active member of Architeam, the Australian Institute of Architects, and the Alternative Technology Association.
He is also member of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland.
